Stop 4: Valley Forge
Modern day Valley Forge: Welcome to Valley Forge, the second stop on your trip. Today Valley Forge is is a National Historical Park. 15 year olds and younger are free of charge. You must buy a pass to enter and it covers your entrance, wildlife refuges, and standard amenity fees. There are many fun aspects of this park such as, outdoor activites and guided tours. Over 315 wildlife animals are living within the park and 225 are just birds! Also, there is a great difference of plant diversity in the park. Over 730 species of plants. For children, this historical park offers boy scouts, watching historical demonstrations, and much more!
Historical Valley Forge: No battle accured in Valley Forge, however, it was a turning point. This is where the Continental Army trained during the winter. Some men couldn't take the cold, hunger, or uncertainty any longer. Many desserted and some died from diseases. On June 19, 1778, exactly 6 months after the Americans arrived, a new army, anxious to fight, was transformed into a real fighting group.
